Large Business, Aerospace Prime Contractor. A
week after we brought a new client on board, she advised that her
organization
needed to see announcements from the Naval Air Weapons Center
(NAWC)
operations in Indianapolis. She asked if we could somehow exclude
announcements from NAWC Pax River, China Lake, Orlando, and any
other locations.
Because we know the structure of the FedBizOpps system and can revise
our search
software
quickly, we implemented a new search criteria that day. The client
saw the
result in the very next day's Custom FedBizOpps Postings issue
- and every
issue
since!
Start-Up Small Business, Construction/Construction Services.
This client's target market is new construction of post office
facilities for lease. Therefore he needed to review only those
procurements and awards announcements in two Classification Codes that
also contained ALL of three keywords. We developed a four-step search
process that produces and sends him exactly what he needs. No more; no
less.
Small Business, 8(a), Aerospace Subcontractor. When
our very first client corporation purchased a computer software
training
business, we added the Classification Code "U" and the search
words
"class" and "software" to their search criteria. While these
additions worked,
we noticed that many irrelevant announcements containing words such
as
"classified" and "world-class" as well as others dealing with
"software
development", "software testing", "software on CD-ROM", and
"software design"
were also selected. How could we eliminate the unwanted
announcements? We
reviewed the previous 22 days' FedBizOpps Postings and found that, on
average,
each contained 3 announcements in the "U" classification for
Education
and Training Services. The client agreed that these were what they
really
needed. Their next day's Custom FedBizOpps Postings issue - and
every issue
since -
included all "U" classification announcements. We continue to
screen the
company's other classification codes of interest with their
specified search words
and phrases.
Small Business, Specialized Microelectronics Manufacturing
and Assembly. This client needed to focus on specific hardware
products and on specific large prime contractors who would need
suppliers for their types of products. We set up their search
profile to
analyze only the announcements in Supplies Classification Codes 14,
18, 58,
59, 60 and 66. Then our system further down-selects only the
announcements that contain their key search words which include
their
manufactured products, their major Government and prime contractor
customers, and the
types of services they can perform.
Large Business, Aerospace Manufacturer's Regional Business
Development Office. Their Custom FedBizOpps Postings search
profile selects all
announcements published by all organizations at their primary
customers' locations:
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and NASA's Glenn Research Center.
They also receive
all announcements for one Department of Energy center within their
territory. We recommended some unusual key search words that have
proven
highly accurate in selecting exactly what the client needs to see,
and only what
they need to see.
