Oakfield Tornado Outbreak
We left Milwaukee at 7:30 pm, too late for the big tornado. There was an impressive line of towers and storms to the west.
As we got to West Bend this storm became so strongly sheared that the side of the updraft looked like a hornets nest.
to our east was the monster cell that produced the Oakfield tornado.
We headed west and the storm cell produced a microburst.
The storm also had a striated base.
On this night we were not fortunate enough to see a tornado, but we were treated to a spectacular lightning show after sunset.
