Chase Home 2005 June 5 June 7 June 29
On June 5, 2005 we came back into Wisconsin from Iowa and headed north on I-90 to a line of storms that were moving into a tornado watch over northeastern Wisconsin. SPC had issued moderate risk for northeastern Wisconsin with a 15% chance of tornadoes within 25 miles of a point. One particular supercell became intense and produced the tornado in the photo above in Oconto County. It was tough to keep up with these storms as they were moving at 45 miles per hour to the northeast and northern Wisconsin has a lot of trees along the highways to block your view of storms that do develop. The storms were quite spectacular as they moved out over Lake Michigan later on that evening.
