I drink bourbon, but I also write about it. My book,
BOURBON, STRAIGHT: The Uncut and Unfiltered Story of American Whiskey,
is a good place to start. I also made a documentary
about bourbon for public television. It is available on DVD. I write articles
for magazines and publish the only American
whiskey newsletter. Here are some links and
recommended books that bourbon lovers may find useful. A short biography is here.
On September 18, 2009, I was inducted into the Kentucky Bourbon Hall of Fame, which is the highest honor given by Kentucky's legendary bourbon industry. (More here.)
Because I live in Chicago, people often ask me where in Chicago they should
go to buy or drink bourbon. Here is the answer.
On September 28, 2005, I attended the dedication of George Washington's
reconstructed distillery at Mount Vernon in Virginia. Watch the slide
show. (The slide show opens in a new window. When you are finished watching, just close the window to return here.)
