Arthur Lamkin Barrett was born in Lisbon, New Hampshire in 1893, son of G. Leston Barrett and Emma D. (Lamkin). 
Mr. Barrett was employed by the Boston and Maine railroad for over 43 years, 27  of which as storekeeper at the Kippers plant in Nashua. 
He was a member of the First Congregational church of Nashua and served as an attendant.
He was a veteran of World War I serving two years in France with Company D, 14th Engineers (Light Rail), US Army.

  Arras - Bapaume sector, 21 August, 1917 - 20 March, 1918;
  Somme defensive, 21 March - 6 April, 1918,
  Arras - Bapaume sector, 7 April - 20 May, 1918
  Aisne - Marne offensive, 2 - 6 August, 1918
  Aisne - Marne sector, 7 - 17 August, 1918
  Oise - Aisne offensive, 18 August - 10 September, 1918
  Meuse - Argonne offensive, 26 September - 11 November, 1918

He was active in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows serving as grand master of NH Grand Lodge, IOOF in 1932 and 1933; member of White Mountain lodge No.5 IOOF Concord; Encampment Branch of Concord; Canton, No.9, Patriarchs Militant of Nashua, and Fidelity Lodge of Rebekahs in Concord.  Mr. Barrett was also a past president of the Past Grand Representatives Association of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF).
