Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you leaving your current job?In April, 2001, Old Kent Bank signed a merger agreement with Fifth Third Bank Corp. Old Kent is the smaller of these institutions (about half the size of Fifth Third). As a result of this merger, Old Kent's Project Management and Consulting Dept. was flagged for elimination. My job as a Technical Project Manager at Old Kent ended when the conversion activities were complete, in October 2001. back to topWhen will you be available to start a new job?I am available to start with minimal notice, at your convenience. back to topWhich geographic areas would you consider?I reside in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and am unable to relocate. However, I am open to a number of flexible solutions that might make it possible to work with a geographically remote company. These would include a combination of commuting and telecommuting; specifics would need to be negotiated depending on all parties' requirements. This could be taken as far as potentially flying across the country for a few days to a week every month. I currently telecommute 2 days a week, and find that out-of-office work time can be very productive. back to topTechnical positions exist in many industries. Is there an industry you would prefer over others? No. I would be much more attentive to working environment and position responsibilities than industry. While I have worked in banking for the last 8 years, my previous experience includes providing technical services for 2 engineering firms and a marketing company. back to topWhat salary range would you consider?Call me (click here for contact information); let's talk! back to topWould you consider a compensation package partially based on commissions?Yes, but I require a significant base package, including health insurance. back to top |
