Your employees will be happiest if you allow them to shine.  Involve them at any point possible.  Let your appreciation show in creative and unexpected ways.

Encourage growth and expansion.  Establish ownership and responsibility.  Allow flexible schedules so employees can volunteer in the community, and parents can become involved in their children's schools.

Have very open doors, and run periodic structured brainstorming sessions.
