A wonderful bio received from Sharon Sauermilch Wagner. Click here to see it. She has written to Mark Hobbs, and to the University of Texas alumni office re: Teresa Page and Carol Gloyna. Ginny Witter is trying to obtain contact information for Ann and Jan Bunge through their older brother Walter. Will e-mail any new contact information out as we receive it. Thanks Sharon and Ginny.
Scott Hinkle wrote, has a new e-mail address and is looking for Claudia (75) and Steve (70 or 71) Smith. Any leads?
An e-mail update (already posted on the web site) for Cecily
Nagel. This is her new home e-mail address, replacing the office
address she used previously, so you can all bombard her with mail
and photos:
CecilyN@msn.com
Cecily has news that Barbie Jackson Pulford apparently has moved
to Houston. That explains why her Venezuelan e-mail address no
longer works. Barbie and Pat moved recently from Valencia, Venezuela.
Cecily will provide their updated address and we'll circulate
it to all.
There are a number of alums in Houston, Carla Oden (and all of
her sibling), Molly Manzo, Danny Herbert and now, apparently,
Barbie. Enough to get together for a feijoada every few months.
Thanks Cecily.
This site is now the 'Virtual Reunion Site' to help us all keep in touch with and find the many still lost of our Graded classmates of the classes of '74 and '75. The new design of the home page should help
Four more rolls of Esther and Dennis's 'real' Reunion photos are now posted (see links on Home Page). Also new are Reunion photos taken by Gregg Henton with the famous Nikon camera that he used to take many of the 1975 Yearbook photos, including all the Senior Class formal portraits. The Nikon, like its owner, is in terrific shape and the photos are superb.
The photo pages will load fairly slowly on a modem connection, as there are many high resolution photos on each page, so please be patient.
Barbara Bodden and Deidre Scanlon were found by Carla Illanes (snail mail address for Barbara posted on the 'lost and found' page for the class of '75 and Idaho Springs, CO is where Deidre lives). Carla Illanes can help you contact Deidre.
We're creating an address list with all of the e-mail addresses for the class of '74 and '75 members that we have and will e-mail you telling of updates to the site.
Welcome to the 2000's. In this update, we have added the names of all class-mates who attended Graded from the Freshman through Senior years. Unfortunately they are virtually all 'lost'. I encourage you to spend a few minutes researching names of some of your favorite 'lost' ones on the Internet. You may be pleasantly surprised to find a long lost friend.
Just FOUND is Sharon Sauermilch Wagner, '75 who found the web site through an old Alumni Eye that her mother obtained. Sharon is looking for Carl Lenhardt. Any clues? Sharon's e-mail address is: cswagner@planetc.com. Click on the address to send her a message.
We've also uploaded on to this web site the first of the Dennis and Esther photos that were at Seattle Filmworks and many of you (most?) had a lot of trouble seeing.
The Hannhan's (Pat and Mike) are found. See brief note and e-mail address from/for Pat. Mike has no e-mail, so use Pat's to contact Mike. New e-mail address for Carla Oden. News of a mini-Reunion in Sao Paulo, as related by Wendy Levy in the Discussion Forum. News of Esther and Dennis Rodrigues' son Daniel's Eagle Scout Project web site. Also see the Discussion Forum for that. Christmas is coming up fast, the year is almost done and the web site keeps racking up visitors. 1878 as of tonight. Best wishes to all in this Holiday Season.

Gary Baker's Radio Show discussing how to organize a Class Reunion
over the Internet, was broadcast live from our house from 8:30
- 9:00 am on the Saturday morning of the Reunion. Click on Gary's
picture or on the link at the top of the page to listen to the
show over the Internet.
A brief note and photo of Massimo de Rossi's new home in CT. Getting established in the new home unfortunately conflicted with the Reunion.
The Kim Hauner photos are now up to 29 pictures on the Reunion Photos site. The images cover the Friday afternoon cooking session, Friday evening informal gathering and the breakfast and churrasco. More to follow. . .
Kim Hauner uploaded all of his photos to a new site, which you can reach by clicking on the link in the navigation bar above. Thanks Kim and thanks brother Mike Hauner for allowing Kim to spend office hours working on something that he really cares about.
We've found a way to upload pic's to a free site. Tonight we've uploaded the first 15 or so of the Kim Hauner files. To find the site with the photos you can click on the Reunion Photos link above.
To see the photos we've posted so far, you must provide the following user-id:
DRodrigues
and password:
graded
The photos uploaded so far are on the page titled 'Kim Hauner's Photos'. There are 15 photos available so far, and there are dozens and dozens more to load, so check back in a few days.
If you have received your Reunion photos back from developing (and ideally you've thought of ordering them scanned on a CD: most photo-finishers offer this for a few dollars more) and are ready to share them, write to me and I'll give you instructions on how to upload them yourselves. If you did not order them on a CD, but have a scanner, I can help you through the scanning and uploading process. As a final option, send me duplicates of all your photos and we'll scan them here.
For those who are reading this message on the Discussion Forum, the address of the site with the photos is:
Rick Conn called tonight. He's found Barbara Bodden Durland, and hopes to have complete contact info. for her in the next few days. He's also spoken on the phone with Rob Jones in New Mexico and Gregg Roth in PA. All in the last five days, since finding the Reunion web site. He's looking for Mark Hobbs and thinks he can track him through the State Dept. as Mark's dad was a diplomat.
Three more teaser Reunion photos from the Kim Hauner files. . .
Inserted yearbook photos of Rick Conn and Steve Crane. Added current photos of Steve Crane, taken in Rio. Included Reunion portraits (courtesy Alice Reeves and Kim Hauner) on the Photos and Letters pages (don't you love to wait for those huge pages to load. . . ??) of: Carolyn Kincaid, Alice Reeves, Peter Warren, Barbie Jackson and husband Pat Pulford, Marjo Kuilman, Lori Orman, Steve Baxter, Roberto and Cyndy Bellini, Dave Sage, John Callander, Carol Lassila Baker, Greg Henton, Carla Oden and Murray and Claudia Case.
The Graded Memoirs discussion forum is off to a great start. Please visit it and read the many postings in there. You can read the entries in the forum by pressing the Enter the Forum button. It will not require you to provide first name, last name and subject until you post a message of your own to the Forum.
Ginny Witter Barry and Steve Crane provided bios. Rick Conn is found and posted his bio in the Discussion Forum and we've copied it to the Letters and Photos pages. Yearbook photos of Steve and Rick will follow as well as current photos of Steve and Ginny. Rick, how about a current photo?
Rick learned about the web site and Reunion through Mike Hannahan's father, who told Mike about the Graded site and Mike had Rick look it up and learned of our Reunion, AFTER it was over. Such a shame to have missed it. Meanwhile Rick is making up for lost time by e-mailing Leo Dikinis, David Ogilvie and several others. Welcome to the land of the Found, Rick. Mike, how about a bio?
The very best part of the Reunion for me was the conversation. To keep the conversation going (albeit virtually) we have established a Reunion bulletin board (or discussion forum) which is now operating. Click on the Graded Memoirs link above to log in. You will be required to enter a Login name and Password of your choice and a valid e-mail address. I have entered the message from Wendy presented on the What's New page yesterday and additional messages from Kirk Walker, Lucy Miranda, Matt Lund, Barbie Jackson Pulford, Austin Bowles and Ralphie Sherman. Please post your own memoirs directly to the bulletin board.
We've posted a few photos tonight as a teaser (see photos link above). These are three of Kim Hauner's almost 100 reunion digital photos that he downloaded at our home before returning to Vancouver. Write to Kim (at interstyle@bc.sympatico.ca) to ask him to post the rest of his photos on a site so that all of us can enjoy them.
Alice Reeves took a series of lovely portraits of many reunion attendees. We will post these individual photos to the Letters and Photos pages over the next few weeks. Keep checking. . .Posting photos is a time consuming process. Others who have the ability to upload photos to their own ISP's and provide us with a link to the photos will have our eternal gratitude. If you cannot, scan the photos and e-mail them to us. Or as a last option, mail the prints and we'll scan them ourselves.
What a fantastic weekend. We'd like to capture the emotions, experiences and treasured moments of this weekend that each of you experienced. Please write to us. Wendy Levy led off with the following message today:
Dear Friends (Reunionites?),
Esther asked me to write some thoughts about the reunion on
the plane, when
it was still fresh. So here goes some free-associations (Howard,
where are
you?).
For two intense and wonderful days, time stopped. (Or flew
by- we all were
always surprised how late it was at the end of every event.) We
relived
our past lives; shared memories, laughter, and tears, cemented
friendships,
began new ones. We formed a cocoon of safety, of acceptance, of
forgiveness of being real [more of that later]. Facades slipped
away the
moment we walked into the Rodrigues's receptive home. For some
it
validated a feeling of belonging to something, intangible yet
very real.
Our common denominator was so powerful and centering, there was
no need to
express it. We all shared a unique experience of a special place
and a
special time, and for two full days were able to relive it. What
a gift
(thanks again, Esther and Dennis) to encapsulate and re-experience
those
precious memories.
Allow me to share with you (yet another) memory. It was 1972
or 73, in
Mrs. Clem's English class. Mrs. Clem, you may recall, was very
creative,
adapting her curriculum to our needs and concerns. (Remember studying
the
themes and lyrics of some of the top hits? I still cannot hear
"Blue Eyes"
without reminiscing). Anyhow, she once read us a wonderful story,
then
new, which became the theme of my friendship with Esther, all
these years.
And Esther, I think you won't mind, I'd like to open this up and
pass it
on. It was "The Velveteen Rabbit." Despite all the wear
and tear of these
25+ years, there has been an unconditional "realness"
which was revalidated
this weekend. That's what our reunion, this peak experience, was
all
about- being real.
Once again, thanks so much, for everything, all these years.
Really yours,
Wendy

Donna Mackenzie provided photos of her three kids, Cody, Sheba and Sasha.
Austin Bowles ('74), wrote and will attend the reunion. Austin attended Graded in the 6th and 7th grades and found us via an aunt who looked up the Graded site a week ago and there found the link to our reunion home page. Austin has video footage of several of you at his 12th birthday party and will bring the video tape to the reunion. Imperdivel. . . Wendy Levy confirmed her attendance. Bio and photos of Molly Manzo Joyce, husband Craig and sons. Steve Gay confirmed his presence at the Reunion.
Personal ad for Reunion attendees:
"43 yo SWM, HWP, seeks living, breathing human to share
Super Pensao at the Riande Continental. Must have sense of humor
and enjoy staying up all night. Rent $60 per night plus 1/2 mini-bar
expenses. No republicans, please.

(aka Gregg Farrar)".
A confirmation and a bio from Wendy Levy Massarani. A current photo of Donna Mackenzie. More news and two thoughtful articles from Roberto Alegre, who sadly sends his regrets. Regrets from George Beckwith. A family photo of Phill Walton. Spoke to Kathie Michael on the phone who is hard at work with sister Martha Michael on name tags and a printed version of the Photos and Letters web pages for Reunion attendees. Kathie says that John Schaefer will attend. . .
Bio from John Callander posted. Alice Reeves, honorary member of the class of '74 (she actually attended St. Paul's with Francesca and Jeannine Samuelsson, Kathy Liao and Dennis Rodrigues) will attend the Reunion.
Gary Baker, Carol Lassila's husband, has a weekly live "Internet Advisor" show on Detroit's WJR AM radio station every Saturday morning from 8:30 to 9:00 am. The shows can be played back over the Internet. The May 9, 1998 show features Lauren, Gary and Carol's then 6 year-old, discussing how Lauren set up a Mother's Day web site.
The October 9 "Internet Advisor" show will be broadcast live through a phone link-up from the Rodrigues home in Miami. The October 9 show's theme will be "Organizing a Class Reunion using the Internet". Gary and Dennis will discuss how we have used Internet e-mail and the web site to bring people together for this Reunion. Gary has a 'plug' for our Reunion at the end of the October 2, 1999 show. Listen to it!!

Three confirmations in one day: Matt Lund, Gregg Farrar and Cecily Nagel. See notes on the 'Who is coming' page. We now have 35 confirmed alum attendees, from the classes of '74 (21), '75 (12) and '76 (2). Plus spouses and kids puts us close to 50 people for the Reunion.
New news from Mikael Westlund and Gregg Roth, both moved from the Lost to the Found in the Class of '75. Both unfortunately with regrets. A trio of great photos of the Danny and Mimi Herbert's and their three big kids. A lovely visit yesterday evening to our home by Tica Stanton ('76), who very kindly provided a photo that she took of Tom Dunn in January '77. Tom's '77 photo is now published on the web site. Gregg Henton's office and home e-mail's and phone numbers posted at his request. Any others who would like phone numbers posted on the web site, please provide and we'll be glad to post them.

The web site has currently 418 hits since 8/25/99. We're thrilled at the interest. Keep checking it!!
Posted a now photo from Fernanda Figueiredo and family; added an e-mail address for Phil Pyne and sent him an e-mail; added Tica Stanton's and Mike Holmquist's e-mail addresses to the Who is Coming page; Lori Orman confirmed her travel arrangements and was moved up to the list of those with confirmed attendance. Cecily Nagel (CecilyN@psbc.org) was found by Greg Farrar. Her e-mail address is on the e-mail directory for the class of '74. We'll post her entire letter tomorrow. Lastly, we posted e-mail addresses for Gregg Farrar, Gordon Lepingwell and John Garcia.
Rolf Hak is thinking of setting up a web site for the class of '77 and may be contacting some of us who had younger sibling in the class of '77 to track them down. Rolf's address for those who would like to volunteer information is: rolf.hak@atkearney.com.
New news from: Rick Senosiain, Lucy Miranda Phillips, Steve Gay, Danny Herbert and Roberto Bellini. More news from: Betsy Burges Kahn, George Derr and Matt Lund.
See all the e-mail addresses we have posted on the Lost & Found pages.
Lynette Botsford Pinto wrote to us about an Escola Americana de Campinas website. The site includes a comprehensive directory of Campinas alums, several of whom transferred to Graded in the early 70's to finish high school. Some of the Graded '74 and '75 alums who are also listed on the Campinas site are: Nancy Mathews, Scott Hinkle and Chrys Richards from the class of '74 and Marianne van der Schans and Sue Miller from the class of '75. Each of these FOUND classmates have email so they are now contactable! EAC had their first ever reunion (for all class levels) in Dallas in June, 1999. There are hundreds of photos of the EAC Reunion on the site. Check out the directory, there may be names you recognize and would like to contact.
The EAC site also features a bulletin board and a chat room. EAC'ers gather Wednesday evenings from 9 - 11 pm Eastern time for a good 'bate-papo' in the chat room. We chatted last Wednesday with Mike Richards (Graded '73, and Chrys Richards' older brother). To log into the EAC chat room click here. We'd like to know how interested you would be in a regular chat room gathering for Graded-ites. Please write to us with your comments by clicking here: Chat Room Idea Feedback. If clicking there doesn't work, just e-mail us at: dennis57@ix.netcom.com.
The Campinas directory lists full home and e-mail addresses for everyone 'found'.
We thought this was such a good idea that we plan to list e-mail addresses next to the name of each 'Found' member of the Graded classes of '74 and '75 (at least those we have e-mail addresses for) to expedite contact between class members.

Some clarification on the agenda for the Reunion where the different events are in relation to each other: We have scheduled the breakfast and churrasco on Saturday to be AT our home. We thought it would be nicest to meet for the first time in a home setting rather then a rented place. We live in the south part of Miami, in a neighborhood recently incorporated as the Village of Pinecrest. There is another Pinecrest near Fort Lauderdale, way up north from us. The map links on the Travel page give specific address and directions to our house. The festivities at our house will be pool-side for the most part. Every day is swimming pool weather day in Miami, so do bring bathing suits, especially for your kids. South Beach, where the Saturday evening dinner will be, is about a half hour from our home, if there is traffic, maybe 45 minutes. South Beach is on a barrier island, reached by crossing a combination bridge/causeway that begins in downtown Miami. Very pretty. The Breakfast cruise ship on Sunday morning leaves from Bayside, downtown Miami. Use the parking lot for the Bayside Mall, which is adjacent to the dock where the cruise ship leaves from. The 'rodizio' churrasco lunch at the Bossa Nova Restaurant, on Sunday, is in Coral Gables which is at a mid-point between our home and downtown Miami. Nothing is too far here, wherever you stay is doable. |

Linda Schaefer telephoned and gave her regrets. She is moving in to a new home and is caught up with all of the arrangements. She says that the only way she might make it is if the financing falls through........ not sure what to hope for here........ We'll miss you Linda. And this just in from Ralph Sherman: Esther - I just got in touch with Mark Boyce - looks
like he will come. Roberto Bellini is found too: Just received this note from Roberto Alegre: Dear Roberto We found you !!! I am your friend Roberto Alegre.... Remember ???? Our friends from Graded Class of 74 are trying to get everybody together. There is even a web site were we have been posting news from each other. There is also a Class Reunion being planned for October 9 and 10 in Miami. I think that the last time I heard from you was over 10 years ago when I spoke with Enrico Sessarego. He told me that you are a doctor! This reminds me of the private chemistry classes. I have been exchanging e-mails with Fernanda Figueiredo, Carol Henderson, Marjo, Tim Mathias, Felix Lahens and many others . I also meet often with Bill Zeitlin here in Sao Paulo often. Please send an e-mail telling about you ... From: <Robertobellini@cs.com> Yes I lived in Sao Paolo in the 70's . Went to Graded American

Replaced Kathy Lutter Fiedler's photo with the yearbook photo for her junior year. We'd posted her sophomore photo before. We're still expecting a current photo of Kathy and family. As you may recall the '74 yearbook provides last names only for the Senior class, which makes figuring out the "who's who" of the underclassmen a chore. New news from Jeanne Brownson Murphy. Jeanne has some conflicting travel plans for the week of the Reunion. Some friendly persuasion by her friends might help the probability that she will attend. Write to us if you would like her e-mail address. We'd really like to see her. Lynette Botsford Pinto wrote and gave her regrets. See her old yearbook photo and brief news item. Lynette, send us a current photo. Carla Oden left a message for Shelly Boynton's parents to try to locate her. Carla also found snail-mail addresses for Steve Gay and Molly Manzo Joyce. Invitations sent to both. Steve Gay's e-mail address, for those who would like to help persuade him to attend the Reunion is supposed to be: SGAY@compuserve.com The Alumni Mothers pitch in to find the lost. This just received from David Ogilvie: "Dennis, I found another one. Peggy Neal Wallace |

New news and photo of Neil Richmond and his three lovely children and, unfortunately, his regrets. Carl Kincaid needs a 'milagre' to attend the reunion, since he teaches in California and does not have the Monday off. This Columbus Day holiday is turning out to be a rather 'fajuto' holiday. Nothing like 'official' Brazilian holidays that are always observed by everyone. Lots of fingers crossed for Carl's 'milagre' to happen. (Coercion by his friends is a good way to make 'milagres' happen. Carl's e-mail address: batucadas@earthlink.net |
We spoke to Connie Shearer Yoder by phone. Connie moved with her family from Indiana to Goose Creek, South Carolina a year ago. Connie is an obstetric nurse and recently started a new nursing job. She doesn't know whether she will have the Reunion weekend off or not. Please all cross your fingers so that her schedule permits her to attend. |
| Added travel dates and planned lodging arrangements on the Who's Coming page for those who have provided their travel schedules so far. Please write providing your dates as soon as your travel arrangements are final. |

Learned from Wendy Levy that Lynette Botsford Pinto is actually in Camden, NJ not Brooklin NY. Invitation to the Reunion re-sent to Lynette. |
| Moved Bill Gonsalves from the list of Found to Lost. The Reunion invitation sent to the Portland, OR address was returned. | Moved Vicki Fitzgerald Cook Tito Silveira and Deidre Scanlon from Found to Lost because the Reunion invitations sent to the addresses on record at the Alumni office were returned as undeliverable. |

Bill McCorkle, unforgettable Biology teacher at Graded in the early '70's visited us in Miami in January 1999.
We'd like to post more information about Graded faculty who taught the classes of '74 and '75, but need input from all of you. |
Kathie Michael wrote giving news of her activities these last 25 years. Leo Dikinis wrote again, giving more history and providing three photos of himself at the Husch Vineyard where he is the General Manager.
Added Susan deVries and Kathy Lutter to the list of Found. We look forward to hearing directly from Susan and Jeanne Brownson Murphy, as well as all of the other Found (and Lost) from both classes who haven't written yet. |

Leads on some of the lost: We received a e-mail address for Stefan Lund from Lena, but that address is no longer valid. Iliana and Lena both said that Stefan is living in Vinhedo, SP, about 50 miles outside of Sao Paulo. Iliana, could you please track Stefan down and let us know? We've e-mailed Francesca Mascaretti at an address in Argentina supplied by Kim Hauner, but so far no response. Any other clues that anyone has? Tim Mathias called Greg Farrar in Seattle (see Tim's latest note). Tim reports that Greg thinks that Cecily Nagel may be living in Seattle. In early 1978 Esther recognized Cecily from behind as they were both walking up a multi-story staircase in the student union at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. It had been at least seven or eight years since they had seen each other. Esther and Cecily kept contact briefly until Esther graduated from Western in June 1978. Does anyone have leads on Cecily's whereabouts? |
The Reunion invitations sent to the addresses on record at the Alumni Office for Cheryl Dancey and Anniece Pemberton were both returned, so we've moved them from the list of 'Found' to the 'Lost'. We're looking for anyone who has information on their whereabouts, plus the many other 'lost' classmembers. |
