Action Statement No. 9 - Hooded Plover.
Hooded Plovers are rare endemic shorebirds that breed mainly on the
ocean beaches of southern Australia. Their breeding habitat is under

vehicles. They are currently being colour-banded in Victoria, NSW,
in order to learn more about their movements and their ecology in a
project of the AWSG.

Ruff Philomachus pugnax
Ruff Project by David B. Lank who states: "Since 1984, I have studied the ruff, Philomachus pugnax, a sandpiper species which presents particular challenges for behavioral, population and evolutionary biologists because it has a stable genetic polymorphism in male mating behavior." This is an excellent study with a great web site.
