Membership
The American College of Sexual Medicine and Health (ACSMH)is
currently in formation, memberships are not being solicited at present.
Membership will be sought primarily from physicians, but it
is obvious that other sexuality professionals and students will be
interested in the work of the college.
Fellows of the The American College of Sexual Medicine and Health
(FACSMH) ideally will be board certified in a specialty recognized by the
American Board of Medical Specialities (ABMS)or equivalent organization
and meet other requirements. Physicians that have equivalent experience
and training in Sexual Medicine may also be elected to Fellowship.
Physicians that have not attained fellowship status, may become Members.
Non-physician sexuality professionals or other health care professionals
may become Associate Members.
Purpose
The ACSMH is dedicated to accomplishing several goals. These
include, but are not limited to the following:
1) Identification of a cadre of physician experts in Sexual Medicine that can act
as consultants to other physicians.
2) Assist the public in identifying physicians that are both competent and interested
in treating patients with Sexual Medicine problems.
3) Train physicians in Sexual Medicine, both in fellowship and continuing
education programs.
4) Create forums for the presentation and exchange of scientific research.
5) Create practice guidelines and standards for Sexual Medicine.
The Next Step
This web site is an attempt to gather support for the organization.
It is hoped that a cadre of dedicated professionals in this area will
assist in making the ACSMH a reality. If interested please feel free to
e-mail Dr. Moser, link at the end of this document.
