Ford issued a technical service bulletin revising the oil fill requirements for the aforementioned engine. Originally, the fill requirements were four quarts, five with a filter change. This was changed to six quarts, seven with a filter change. Additionally, add another quart if you have an oil cooler. Ford changed the dipsticks application on these cars to reflect the new fill levels. Check the chart below for your application.
