Sovereign Mounting Option

I am not the originator of this but it helps a big weakness. The SOV. does not balance well. ESp. with a meter. The bag that comes with it is nice but never I liked hipmounts. This trick works! Move the box to the rear part of the handle. Remove the existing mounting wedge from the rod by drilling out the two pop rivits with a 1/8" drill bit. Move the arm cup assembly to its most reaward hole and put the bolt through. Turn the assy. upside down. Take the removed mounting wedge and slip it onto the box just like you would if it were mounted on the rod. Now position the box (upside down also) on the rod just in front of the arm cup assy. with the coil connector facing the coil. Make sure the knobs just clear the arm cup. While supporting the box and wedge make sure its straight and the outline the wedge position on the rod with a pencil. Now remove the wedge from the box. Place it inside the outline on the rod. While holding the bracket tightly drill 1/8" holes using the wedges holes as a guide. Pop rivit with two 1/8" rivits. Mount box and attach cable. Velcro behind the meter with a slight slack loop. With the rod fully extended the whole unit will now balance on your finger just ahead of the meter.
When you swing it the first time you will swear it actually weighs a lot less. I dont know how this might be viewed by MINELABs warr. So no matter how good it feels dont ever do this. I never would.
