I attended two seminars at the 1999 Boston Wine Expo. The seminars offer a chance to explore specific areas of wine in more depth than would be possible on the main floor, and give tasters an opportunity to spend a little more time with each wine in a much less harried atmosphere.
Royal Tokaji Wine Co. 1993 Horizontal
Tasting with Hugh Johnson
Noted wine author Hugh Johnson expounds
on the renaissance of one of the world's great dessert wines, Tokaji
Aszu. As part-owner of the Royal Tokaji Wine Company, he shares his
views on the production and future of the wine. In addition, I've
added some details to make this report a more complete introduction
to Tokaji. The tasting consisted of a horizontal of five of the RTWC
1993 offerings, including four of their single-vineyard Tokaji Aszu
wines.
