7th and 8th Grade Lab Reports



Good grade tips:
Always remember to have the heading in the upper right hand corner.
Always include your partner's name with a last name spelled correctly.
Always use a ruler when doing charts and graphs.
Always have a conclusion, no matter how short or easy it may seem to you.
Always include an error section if you make major errors (over 15% incorrect).
Always underline the title.

Lab guide

Your heading, including your name, partner's name, grade and due date goes in the extreme right corner of the paper.

Title: Always underline the title
Purpose: State the purpose of the lab. It is usually given or in the 7th text.
Materials: List all materials in the lab.
Procedure: list the procedure, using numbered steps, unless you are given permission to copy the text as "see page 25."
Data or Observations: Your data is numeric and should be in a chart or graph. Observations are in a chart or a paragraph.
Results: We usually do a results chart that is seperate from the data chart.
Conclusion: Always write a concluding paragraph about what we learned from the lab. We usually look at the purpose to see if we achieved our purpose.
Error: Include an error section if there are big (over 15%) errors to explain what you might have done incorrectly.
