"... What was said was that culture is the shockwave of eschatology. Nothing is unannounced. This is like a weird quality of experience, you can't learn this from physics or economics. (Maybe you can learn it from economics.) Nothing is unannounced. Everything is preceded by the shockwave of its coming. So somehow the spreading zaniness of reality is part of the boundary-dissolving qualities that are going to make up this new cultural mix of disembodied human beings, nanotechnologically-maintained environments, dissolved self-definitions, people living at many levels at the same time; intelligence as a kind of free-flowing nonlocal resource that comes and goes as needed; prosthesis, implant, boundary dissolution -- these things are usually presented as fairly terrifying. But in fact I think behind it all lurks, you know, the demons who do calisthenics in the angles of every room on this planet to keep it all from collapsing into a flat line."

"The Vessel is an information probe that enables
us to understand your environment. Our native
environment is unlike yours, so we wish to learn
so that we might be able to function in your
environment. We are able to create a TEAR in
what you perceive as Time and Space in order
to travel great distances for our research.
We repair the tear when we return to our
own planet.

"Our Planet is smaller than EARTH and has 4 of
your MOONS. Two of these moons we inhabit.

"One of these is for QUARENTINE [ Sic ] of those
of our world who are ill or injured. It is necessary
that those be separated from the rest of our
world until healed. The other MOON is for
production of the CRYSTALS that provide our
power and propulsion for our vessels.
The Production of the CRYSTALS is a highly
volatile and dangerous procedure that could
harm our environment.

"Your world's interpretation of what you
call TIME & SPACE is incorrect.
ALL is INFINATE. [ Sic ]

"The VESSEL creates communications points
at the locations where we make contact
with your species. These communication
points remain open until such time as
the contact returns to initiate contact
with us. After this contact it is closed.

"At the given time, we will initiate contact
with your species. There is much to prepare
before any contact with your world. We have
observed your world evolve and there is
still much that could be harmful to our
world through contact with your world.
Your world could not understand our physical
or mental forms at this time, or the means
by which we are able to traverse ETHOS.

"Our Traverse's are possible due to the
absence of what your world is limited to
by the presence of a Physical form.

"Our existence is of the PROCESS
and not the FORM.

"Some of our species have been lost during
our research and their PROCESS ended due
to interaction with your world. Your world
is warned to respect, protect, and nourish

"We value all PROCESS of our species and
find it the most important element
of existence.

"We have watched you and researched your
world's attempts to traverse ETHOS.

"We find your world interesting for the
structure of so many elements. Our world is
devoid of these elements as they are not
necessary for the existence of our PROCESS.

"Our VESSELS travel at will and initiate
contact with yours and other species as
needed for our research.

"Your world in its infancy is of ETHOS.

Oltissis Does Not Exist In Ancient Greek | © [ answerpot.com ]

Linda Moulton Howe presented the report of a drone UFO witness,
Ted Connors [alias], [Montgomery, AL], [General Dynamics?] that the craft was from Oltissis, the 23rd planet in its system. Connors subsequently found a reference to Oltissis and China's Pleasure Palace [Xanadu] in a book entitled, "Ancient Greek Gods And Lore Revisited." According to Connors the book was confiscated by Homeland Security.
Connors does not speak for all drone reports, and the existence of the drones are well documented.

'Oltissis' has no trace in the ancient Greek. No trace of the book, 'Ancient Greek Gods and Lore Revisited,' was found in several libraries with extensive classical literature. I've checked with three well-versed classicists, all with PhDs in the field.
One of them regularly presents papers and lectures in Greece and knows Greek literature within the Greek perspective.

One of the classicists said, "...mention of neither author nor book nor 'Oltissis' is more than about a week old." Nobody had ever heard of Oltissis nor the book before Ted Connors reported their existence. Among possible explanations for the report are:

1) the book was privately published and is
not widely known to scholars in the field;

2) Ted Connors got luckier than anyone should expect;

3) the current trend of stepped-up disinformation I've
noted previously is getting more convincingly elusive.

The ancient Greeks are very important and the role of Greek descendancy in shaping the modern world cannot be dismissed.
The indeterminate nature of Ted Connors report is critical in the current climate of UFO research, whether the book was privately published or ever even existed. I will continue pursue a few strings that may or may not be fruitful.
We'll see how it goes.

Best regards,

I have before today heard of neither, but can say that

(i) Oltissis is a name unattested in ancient Greek; and

(ii) If there exists a book entitled "Ancient Greek Gods and Lore Revisited" © 1962, then it was privately published and seems to have left none of the usual traces. As to its author, whose exact name seems to be in doubt, the surname "Ionnides" is an unlikely spelling; perhaps it was, as you say [I suggested], Ioannides (or Ioannidis - to reflect modern Greek pronunciation). But "Fredrico" is then almost as unlikely, for two reasons: (a) it sounds Italian, rather than Greek; and (b) it even then probably should be "Frederico" or perhaps "Federico" (as in Fellini, the director).

One thing I am competent to say: the symbol chosen on the second web page for an independent thinker is the Roman would-be revolutionary Catiline; the man accusing him before the gathering is Cicero, who -- to hear him tell it -- on this occasion managed to preserve what we would call democracy for another couple of decades before another independent mind (Julius Caesar) finally destroyed it.

But as far as I can see, mention of neither author nor book nor "Oltissis" is more than about a week old.

Mind Outside of Time | The Secret School - Preparation For Contact

THE SECRET SCHOOL [Whitley Strieber © 1997] ... Etc.

WS recounts a particularly significant recovered memory of 'camping out' (circa 1954) at his Texas home when he was nine years old:
A sizzling ball of lightning came bouncing
up through the lot [...] Then three more [...]
In the center one I saw the outline of a man.
His body was naked and he had his fists against
his temples and his mouth was open. I couldn't
hear a sound, but the anguish in his face
reached me and I clenched my own fists and
groaned. Then I heard his voice, very faintly,
the man who was trapped in there. He was howling
and it was as lost a sound as I have ever heard,
as if he had been deprived of everything he knew
and understood and left only with his terror.
As the ball swept closer, the cries got louder.
I saw that it was going to hit the ground
about fifty feet in front of me, and it did hit
and I could smell its electricity, a vibrant odor.
I held my hands to my head and crouched, but the
ball got bigger and bigger still, and finally was
like the sun blazing in my face. It felt as if I
could sense with the man's senses and taste of his
terror, and what I felt was that I was lying in
the arms of monsters in a stuffy little chamber
in some lost nowhere of the mind and I could not
make myself wake up and I could not make them let
me go and I was so dreadfully afraid, so terrified
that I had lost all nature -- human nature, animal
nature -- and had become fear unbound.
I turned to run back to the tent, and then
heard over and over, in addition to the wailing,
other voices that sounded like the voices of my
sister and my friends saying, "What can we do to
help you stop screaming?"
Many years later, I would describe something
very similar in 'Communion', as I reported on the
events of December 26, 1985: "One of them ... said,
'What can we do to help you stop screaming?'"
It's almost as if the man in the ball of fire was
me doubling back through time in some incredible
attempt to escape ... or a strange childhood
nightmare that boiled up again many years later.

Cicero, the man with whom I had contact, was
an orator and powerful member of the Roman senate.
He was a leading champion of the republic and one
of the principal opponents of Octavius. As the last
defender of the Roman republic, he remains one of
Western history's most important figures. In the end,
his ideas did not prevail, and he was assasinated by
his young rival. [...] Then I realized that I was
seeing somebody, a man in a toga. The vision appeared real enough to allow me to feel that I was back in Rome, but not in my Roman self. I was something else, an electric creature, a thing that seemed composed of pure ecstasy. [...] [Pg. 140 | Lesson 7 - Time Traveler:

[...]     I cannot imagine why I wasn't terrified. It is incredibly upsetting to see something that is clearly not human walking and moving about with intelligence. There is something that is unmistakable about the precision of consciously directed movement that is deeply frightening when seen in such an alien form.
Nothing like this was going through my mind at the age of twelve, but the vision of that eerie being moving about among the tables remains quite clear. When I asked her why she looked so awful, she replied almost absently, without stopping her work, "I can't help that."
I wonder what Ishtar really looked like, and if the whole Greek pantheon of beautiful gods and goddesses was not something akin to the beautiful "godlike" beings imagined by people who have made flying saucers their religion. [...] The closest thing I have been able to find to an unadorned image of these beings is not from some modern science-fiction movie, it is rather the age-old, glaring face of Ishtar. Paint her eyes entirely black, remove her hair, and there is my image as it hangs before me now in my mind's eye, the ancient and terrible one, the bringer of wisdom, the ruthless questioner. Zeena expresses surprise and bafflement to Alec over selective irrational human behaviors like polluting automobiles and deforestation which considering the advanced cognition and historical awareness 'Zeena's people' have of humanity should be neither baffling or surprising in any way. Alec writes of the enormous city on the planet 'Haven' his abductor's took him to: "The first most striking thing about the city was it's neatness and order; the second, it's immensity. Even from well up I could not make out the boundaries. There may well be bigger cities on Earth, but where I come from this place would be rated big, VERY big." So apparently the hyper 'green' environmentally concerned 'Zeena and her people' are not so naive after all about urban development.

I almost succumbed to buying this book on Linda Moulton Howe's recommendation alone, but like so many abduction stories, this one sounds like a novelist's dream catharsis. By the way, where are the bathrooms in the Biological Extraterrestrial Entity's infrastructure, and why don't abductees ever describe basic bodily functions that are so ubiquitous in the mundane reality of waking state consciousness? Could it be that dream states do not require such facilities? Should the visions of religious extremists be give equal time to the inner vision quest of Alec 'Dante' Newald? -=END=-

This is just, as you might say, an example.

Please take this question home with you to put to others, for we also find this most confusing.

LMH, et al.,

With much respect for your body of work, it felt compelling enough with recent events to broach the subject of 'gullibility' when delving into greater degrees of MindGland Weirdities, High Strangeness, and subjective accounts of unverifiable personal catharsis. Consider it an enquiry into yours and other's grounding in the neurosciences as they pertain to experiential quantum mechanics and other mind warping topics requiring infinitely more rigorous attempts at objective analysis. An initiation never ends, regardless of life path or timeline, and the simplest solution is frequently the best. We merely suggest that you 'up your game' just a bit. No insult was intended, to anyone, including Mr. Newald or anyone else grappling with great mysteries. Exhaust the mundane. We are all gullible. -=END=-

Very curious reply to a legitimate criticism
regarding gullibility, to paraphrase:

"I'm rubber and you're glue,
whatever you say bounces off me
and sticks to you!"

One would imagine a preeminent representative of an online (subscriber funded?) quasi-nouveau ufological 'think tank' - so to speak - to have a more mature attitude toward healthy, perhaps aggressive, skepticism, no? Raymond Fowler's books about Betty Andreasson Luca were utterly fascinating, especially her artistically inclined MindGland's ability to illustrate her experience, yet it is impossible to know with anything resembling certainty what sort of consensus reality could be gleaned from her account. And what do you make of her fierce Christian fundamentalist beliefs? Are they of equal merit to her well-defined anecdotal account of extraterrestrial angels?
One of the more admirable characteristics of Whitley Strieber is that in all his nonfiction books about his extraordinarily numerous weird experiences, nowhere does he insist that his strange encounters have absolute concrete reality. He never dismisses the possibility that they might reside in the imaginal realm of dreams, or nonlocal quantum uncertainties that the human mind (neuroscience) has yet to fully comprehend and/or articulate.
Robert Monroe's anecdotal nonlocal remote viewing in his Journey's Out Of The Body seems to be an enhanced form of lucid dreaming, through which he was able, anecdotally, to corroborate certain events in his journeys. When you get to the equally admirable Alec Newald's CoEvolutionary anecdotal account of 'Zeena and Haven,' to dismiss cultural precedence of so many events and phenomena described, with such blind trust in an authentic otherworldly specificity, kind of comes across as gullible.
No offense to you or Alec. Undoubtedly something transpired betwixt and between Mr. Newald's sensory apparatus that found expression in a particularly creative manifestation, the objective reality of which, to Mr. Newald alone, is his to discover and incorporate in a healthy manner. Ufology, and those making a living at it, might best serve contemporary sentient beings by expanding their, fill in the blank: ____________.

With coal gone, oil gone, high-grade metallic ores gone, no species however competent can make the long climb from primitive conditions to high-level technology. This is a one-shot affair. The 'hominization' of the Earth had concluded the phase of physical evolution, during which species multiplied and developed new powers, leading to an entropic breakdown of the biosphere. This process, Chardin realized, requiring the tapping of the stored energy and amassed mineral resources of the planet, could happen only once." [...] Pg. 60; Part One:

Albert K. Bender [ 1921 - 2002 ]

Albert Bender, born in 1921, [was] an American
UFO researcher and founder of the International
Flying Saucers Bureau [IFSB]. Space Review is the
official magazine. 1953 brings news to ufology:
Bender claims to have solved the UFO mystery
thanks to three Men In Black.
((By Michele Bugliaro Goggia - last modified:
April 16, 2006 5:01 PM))

Born in 1921, Bender serves during WW2 within
the Air Force. At Bridgeport he's supervisor at
the Acme Shear factory. During April 1952, Bender,
aged 31, announces in "Other Worlds" the birth of
the IFSB, funded in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
The "Space Review" magazine is published filled
with UFO news. The group develops contacts all
over 48 States. Gray Barker becomes the contact
for West Virginia.

In September 1953, Bender suddenly has a
"so-called-bright-idea": he claims to have
solved the mystery behind UFOs. On October 4,
Roberts and Lucchesi have a talk with him, in
which Bender explains the Men In Black. In fact,
on October 18, Bender announces on Space Review
that the investigation about UFOs has come to a
final stage, but it's not wise to publish the
conclusions on the IFSB magazine.
Such informations are withheld by superior
powers: Bender closes the IFSB and the Space
Review as well.

Later, in an interview, Bender declares the
reason is due to a visit of three shining MIBs
who confirmed his theories about UFOs, gave
further details and strongly suggested to stop
his activities. In his book, Bender writes:

"Three men in black suits with threatening
expressions on their faces. Three men who
walk in on you and make certain demands.

"Three men who know that you know what the
saucers really are!

"They don't want you to tell anyone else
what you know."

Terrorized, Bender followed that advice,
although in 1963 he publishes the weird book
"Flying Saucers and the Three Men in Black".

... For a man in his 20s, and verging upon his 30s by the time he seriously immersed himself in the UFO arena, not to have had a girlfriend, or a wife, might strike many as being odd. Certainly, it would not have been a healthy situation for Bender, physically or mentally, sitting all alone in a dark attic on weeknights and a dark cinema on the weekends. Indeed, repressed sexual energy can wreak mental and physical havoc upon a person's well-being. Not only that, but such repression can manifest within the subconscious in surprising and vivid ways.

In the pages of his 1962 book, 'Flying Saucers and the Three Men,' Bender revealed the details of a late-1953 incident following his decision to close down the International Flying Saucer Bureau that can be considered little more than amusing soft-core porn. As usual, this encounter began with the smell of sulfur, and, lo and behold, his three Men in Black were once again quickly on the scene to transport Bender back to Antarctica. This time, however, it was a much more pleasant and far more rewarding experience: Three hot 'Barbarella'-style space chicks dressed in figure-hugging white outfits removed every stitch of Bender's clothing, leaving him naked as the day he was born. The astonishingly obliging babes from the stars then massaged some form of skin-warming liquid into every pore of Bender's body... without exception.

The aliens then reassured Bender that this was all for his own good. Indeed, they asserted that the mysterious liquid "will make life better for you. There is one dreaded disease on your planet which all persons fear, and you will have no need to fear this once you have received this treatment" (Bender 1962). Logic suggests that the dreaded disease that all persons fear was almost certainly cancer. And, recall that Bender had, LONG before his UFO experiences even began, a wholly irrational fear of developing cancer, which easily befitted the illogical mindset of the classic hypochondriac.

What all this tells us about Bender is that he had repressed sexual fantasies about getting it on with a trio of gorgeous space girls, a terror of developing cancer -- conveniently lessened by a reassurance from the aliens that he will now be FOREVER cancer-free -- and long-standing anxieties about having been visited by agents of the FBI adorned in black Fedoras or Homburgs. Those internal worries then collided in chaotic fashion, duly spilled out of Bender's subconscious, and fell right into the heart of a semi-awake, altered state borne out of an undiagnosed condition of the brain -- hence the sulfur-like smells, the strange out-of-body sensations, and the blackouts that went along with integral parts of the story. Remember too, that Bender had a cousin who, years before, had supposedly been visited by a Woman in Black. We cannot rule out the possibility that Bender (who was well aware of the story) subconsciously added aspects of THAT affair to his own. And thus, as a result of this curious, and possibly even unique chain of events, were born the Men in Black. ...

The Men in Black and their Magical Origins
[SECRET CIPHER of the UFOnauts 1994

"...we are dealing with a full-size
  world-mystery and a real fight
  between the Black and
  White Brotherhoods."
    - Frater Achad, 1948

Throughout medieval times, a major current of thought distinct from official religion existed, culminating in the works of the alchemists and hermetics. Among such groups were to be found some of the early modern scientists and men remarkable for the strength of their independent thinking and their adventurous life, such as Paracelsus. The nature of the beings who mysteriously appeared, dressed in shiny garments or covered with dark hair, and with whom communication was so hard to establish intrigued these men intensely."
    - Jacques Vallee, Passport to Magonia

In 1947 the CIA was organized and the first UFO cases burst upon the American media landscape as "flying saucers." In that year, also, the first modern visitation by the infamous Men in Black took place in which a witness, one Harold Dahl, was silenced. From that point on, a pattern began to emerge.

The Men In Black legend is perennial; that it shows up in connection with the UFO lore should come as no surprise. UFOlogy bizarro chronicler John Keel (_Disneyland of the Gods_, Jadoo, etc.) observed in his _UFOs: Operation Trojan Horse: " The records of demonology are filled with striking parallels ... the general descriptions of the vampires themselves are identical to the 'men in black.' The dark skin and angular, Oriental-like faces were commonly reported ..."

_The Autobiography of Malcolm X_ described Malcolm's encounter with an MIB in prison: "He had on a dark suit I remember. I could see him as plainly as I see anyone I look at. He wasn't black, and he wasn't white. He was light-brown skinned, an Asiatic cast of countenance, and he had oily black hair..."
It is interesting that the celebrated film _Malcolm X_ chooses to imply that this figure was Nation of Islam leader Elijah Mohammed. While Elijah Mohammed and his mysterious teacher Wallace Fard (who vanished without a trace) had come out of High Degree Prince Hall Freemasonry, and certainly knew some of the esoteric secrets, the being Malcolm X described is more in accord with Aleister Crowley's description of the praterhuman intelligence Aiwass than of Elijah Mohammed.

"In the shadows, the Men in Black had long lurked, biding their time, waiting. Here and there, now and then, some people thought they had seen them, but they weren't quite certain; perhaps they more sense than actually regarded them..." Fourteen years earlier, the shadowy visitors had shown themselves openly. Then they had descended upon flying saucer buffs, threatening and terrorizing them, hushing them up...

"Al K. Bender, a UFO researcher, had been the first known victim ...he performed a certain experiment and the lurking horror came. It began with glowing blue lights. Then came the stranger with the luminous eyes in the darkened theatre, and later on a dusky street. It culminated when the Men in Black, three of them, paid him a visit...." - Gray Barker, _The Silver Bridge_

I believe the New Age distortion of the New Aeon concept is a direct attempt by the Black Lodge and its Inner Planes Rulers (which we call, for convenience VALIS) to delay manifestation of the Aeon by creating confusion among the receptive. Much of the "White Light Channeling" clearly bears the stamp of the Black Lodge and VALIS, an empty metaphysical blind of insipid psychic trivia. Many self-improvement groups have their origins in the ideas of failed magicians like L. Ron Hubbard. We have new age centers that teach nothing useful, UFO message-oriented cults waving flashlights on mountains, and, as I have shown end-of-the-world doomsayers touting this or that grand cosmic alignment, harmonic convergence or polar shift.

The UFO cults have clearly influenced even Kenneth Grant's so-called "Typhonian OTO," which appears to use valid magical currents to pursue the hideous old ones of H.P. Lovecraft's fictional Cthulhu Mythos. Phil Dick's last efforts were marred by insipid trivial UFO cult channelings -- the kind of stuff that was old hat to hardened UFOlogists by the late 1950s. Compare Phil Dick's musings in _The Last Testament_ with, for example, the Mark Prophet or Dick Miller or Gloria Lee Bird materials of UFO contactee lore.

Does free will exist? Is Man a meat puppet dangling on strings controlled by higher powers in the universe? Variations on these questions have fascinated thinkers throughout history. Arthur Koestler believed the dramatic motif of Volition against Fate and Puppet on Strings is one of the most powerful archetypes in literature and has appeared in countless forms. Threats to individual or collective freedom arouse very primal human fears and can yield a drama of intense emotions when free will is affirmed. Conversely, when free will is denied, the effect is coldly distancing and allows contemplation of humans as blameless concoctions of organic chemicals stuck in a web of impersonal forces. Because you cannot have heroes without a powerful adversary, paranoia is virtually de rigeur in great literature. In recent times extraterrestrials have joined the pantheon of gods, demons, superior races, secret societies, and power elites which have been pulling the strings.

It would not surprise me if stories of extraterrestrials messing with men's minds pre-date our century, but the earliest instance I've seen is in H.P. Lovecraft's 1928 work The Call of Cthulhu. It speaks of a race called the Great Old Ones which came from the stars and spoke to men by "molding their dreams". The emergence of Cthulhu from beneath the seas is accompanied by sensitive individuals going mad. The cult which sought to liberate him warned he would bring the Earth beneath its sway. A first appearance in Lovecraft's corpus would be appropriate given the mechanistic supernatural perspective that he consciously cultivated of a cosmos totally indifferent to the wants and ultimate welfare of mosquitoes, pterodactyls, fungi, men, trees or other forms of biological energy.

EXCERPT: [...]
The five adversaries' first manifestation in
Owlsley's life didn't particularly alarm him,
attributing their origin, as he did, to some
neuro-biochemical "experiments" performed in
his early, more reckless days.
Coping with the initial shock was easy enough,
Owlsley merely relegated them to an area of
his brain responsible for handling paranoia
and stress; yet if only his growing experience
had spawned a matching depth in reflection and
speculation, he might have realized that they
had always been there, since birth perhaps,
or even earlier.

Owlsley intentionally assumed they were harmless and basically disinterested in anything other than mere observation; however, as of late, it was becoming increasingly apparent that they were simply biding their time... Waiting.

If Owlsley knew the truth about the Adversaries,
not only would he be appalled by his casual
dismissal of them, but his entire notion of
himself as a so called "real being" in a solid,
tangible world would be utterly demolished.
He had a brief intimation of this fearful secret
once early in his childhood, when another part of
his brain, responsible for handling trauma and
existential terror quickly intervened and shut
tight the door to this and other unsavory

Eight years old at the time, he was confined to
bed by a high temperature. Feverish, free from
school and very spaced out, his mind wandered
down an angular corridor which normally would've been well barricaded against any inadvertent trespasses by composite beings.

The notion of a "composite being" was introduced
to Owlsley's understanding much later during a
fever-breaking delirium, suffice to say at this
point that Owlsley was a composite being, a rarity
of rarities, and a special interest to the
Adversaries. In any case, on that particular
afternoon, Owlsley found his mind in a space it
was never meant to occupy, especially this early
in his career.

He was in a weird, feverish, hypnagogic state
between sleep and wakefulness, staring at a
corner point in his room where the ceiling meets
two walls and forms a geometric hollow - a kind
of skewed, three-sided pyramid - when a dimensional key, hitherto invisible, spontaneously formed a similar pyramid in his mind.

This geometric curiosity had the effect of
jettisoning the tumblers of an invisible
spacial lock to five directions, and without
a sound or any discernible movement, a presence
became known to him, or, more accurately:
Their presence was revealed.

The nature of this bewildering visitation was
so unprecedented in Owlsley's life that all he
was capable of discerning at the time consisted
primarily of two, faint, unintelligible voices
originating, apparently, from the other side of
his closed bedroom door.

He was too sick from fever to open the door, but
he knew he was alone in the house, and it was
only later during the aforementioned fever-breaking dream that he finally realized that there were in fact five "entities" who were hovering around his sick bed.

In the dream, Owlsley found himself the subject
of intense scrutiny by five monk-like physicians.
He thought monk because of their attitude of serene detachment, and he thought physician due to their clinical precision, as if they were researchers discussing an experiment. The source of the experiment, in this case, being a presumably unconscious Owlsley.

As soon as the subject of this experiment began
to exhibit signs of perceiving the experimenters,
an alarm was raised and the Five vanished
unceremoniously from Owlsley's mind.

Owlsley himself completely forgot this incident
until much later in life, when, during his pursuit
of various degrees in science and art, they, the
five Adversaries, returned with a vengeance.

This remanifestation occurred during one of
Owlsley's early neuro-biochemical experiments,
the particulars of which shall remain unexplored.
At first Owlsley thought he was losing his mind,
so he visited a psychiatrist and had several tests
performed all of which indicated an above average health and psyche.

He then went the route of religious speculation,
which quickly led to a dead end, and finally
concluded that the Five must be some sort of
disembodied personification of his own
five senses.

Owlsley was particularly fond of this idea as it
appealed to some Taoist fantasy of his, the origin
of which he traced back to that ill-fated,
childhood-ending day in bed, about the eternal
emptiness of being and the composite nature of
sentience, but this notion also ultimately led
nowhere. So he decided to live with it, and since
they didn't prove to be a major hindrance to his
daily life, this seemed to be a reasonable course
of action. Until, that is, recent events proved
otherwise. [...]

[...]     Amazingly throughout the seeming eternal
"long walk," this particular path had not been tread
until this moment; and the strange object - as well
as the equally strange, oncoming destiny ahead - was
about to collide with the emerging consciousness of
the long walker.(10)

The object, clearly in view yet still miles away,
is revealed to be an awesomely huge edifice constructed
of a stone-like material, apparently by some rare form
of advanced intelligence.(11)

To describe some of its more comprehensible
aspects, in terms of size and design relative to
earthly structures, would involve combining elements
of the Mayan and Egyptian pyramids; the ancient
ziggurats of the Sumerians; the vast, synthetic,
steel, plastic and glass towers of the late twentieth
century; and the meticulously detailed structures
found in certain parts of India, Indonesia, Asia and
Draco that are quite literally "encyclopedias set
in stone." (12)

The walker, now at the base of the enormous
structure, detects, with his newly hatched eyes,
a formidable spiral staircase ascending into the
very "deepest heights" of the monument. A seemingly
autonomic instinct compels him to proceed up the
stairway until he encounters the first stone-like
panel carved in bas-relief. Forthwith he ceases all
movements, gazes deeply into the panel, and vanishes
amidst the scene being evoked; thus finding himself
identified in a weird little drama.(13)   [...]

NOTE:   (11) Advanced intelligence.
Not unlike Arthur C. Clarke's extraterrestrial
monolith which triggers higher evolution, some
people believe that human intelligence (frontal
lobe expansion of the primate brain), was caused
by some kind of outside intervention.
Naturally, the consensus hovers over more
mundane explanations. The building in my story
is either an analog of the monolith, or a
compressed representation of civilization, or a
metaphor of the initiatory tradition.
Incidentally, I came across another "building
of records" in one of Whitley Strieber's
abductee books; wherein his "mind" is
telecommunicated (presumably) to a desert planet
where he encounters a building where interactive,
holographic records are displayed. I read about
this long after the writing of my little story,
but there is something archetypal about magical
buildings after all.

"The impact of narratives on human psychology ranges widely from what events we remember most easily to our choices about important foundational behaviors to include our degree of trust in others. Since the brain is the proximate cause of our actions, narratives have a direct impact on the neurobiological processes of both the senders and receivers of them. Understanding how narratives inform neurobiological processes is critical if we are to ascertain what effect narratives have on the psychology and neurobiology of human choices and behaviors, and can assist in everything ranging from exploring how Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder is influenced by event repetition to better understanding the thoughts and feelings of others." :UNQUOTE--

What are my sins?

"Living among you, as I do, is to live in an ocean
of sacred beings who have no idea what they are.
The man in the room next to this sleeps a troubled sleep, but I see the glory of his radiant body, and the couple above, who are engaging in fellatio, I see her patient faith in deliverance, and in him, I see a brave heart on a journey to glory. But I also see the way they see themselves, the shadows of their recriminations and disappointments. Be as little children."

I realize that you see us totally, and I
must say that you've caught me by surprise.

A Truncated Pseudo-analysis of Hologram Strieber

an interesting turn near the end shortly
after GK asked WS if he was 'happy.'
As a psychological warrior on the front

reasonable that WS would have more than

bitterness. At one point following this

I wasn't paying close attention to his

as the recording played the remarkably
clear voice of a woman discussing

Now I wish I had heard the caller's

to GK and WS, had just occurred. Given
the hour, and the unimaginable stress of

WS' journeyman status in broadcasting as

a deeply negative emotional shift took

How many modern humans have ever lived on the earth?
Assuming that the population grew at a slow but steady

65,000 years ago and then to 6 million right before
the invention of agriculture, a total of about
7 billion modern humans were born during that

[...]       Our DNA is too tightly interconnected
to use biology to justify what are essentially
social distinctions. Our preferences, character,
and abilities are not determined by the biological
history of our ancestors. They depend on our
individual attributes, experiences, and choices.
As this inescapable conclusion becomes more widely
held, our genetic histories inevitably will become
less and less important. When we look at another
person, we won't think Asian, black, or white.
We'll just think: person.

In his novel 'Siddhartha,' Herman Hesse tells the
story of a young man in ancient India, a disciple
of an inspired teacher, who sets out to find the
reality beneath the world of appearance.
After years of study and wandering, Siddhartha
becomes a ferryman, learning from his predecessor
how to listen to the voices in the passing river.
One day a childhood friend named Govinda comes to
the river. Siddhartha and Govinda have a long
conversation about the interdependence of illusion
and truth, about the existence of the past and
future in the present, about the need not just to
think about the world but to love it.
Finally Govinda asks Siddhartha how he has achieved
such peace in his life. Siddhartha replies, "Kiss
me on the forehead, Govinda." Govinda is surprised
by the request, but out of respect for his friend
he complies. When he touches Siddhartha's forehead
with his lips, he has a wonderous vision:

'He no longer saw the face of his friend
Siddhartha. Instead he saw other faces,
many faces, a long series, a continuous
stream of faces -- hundreds, thousands,
which all came and disappeared and yet
all seemed to be there at the same time,
which all continually changed and renewed
themselves and which were all yet
Siddhartha. . . . He saw the face of a
newly born child, red and full of wrinkles,
ready to cry. He saw the face of a murderer,
. . . He saw the naked bodies of men and
women in the postures and transports of
passionate love. . . . Each one was mortal,
a passionate, painful example of all that
is transitory. Yet none of them died, they
only changed, were always reborn, continually
had a new face; only time stood between one
      face and another.'

I began this book by calling attention to the
different appearances of human beings. I conclude
now by calling attention to the opposite. Throughout
human history, groups have wondered how they are
related to one another. The study of genetics has
now revealed that we all are linked: the Bushmen
hunting antelope, the mixed-race people of South
Africa, the African Americans descended from slaves,
the Samaritans on their mountain stronghold, the
Jewish populations scattered around the world, the
Han Chinese a billion strong, the descendants of
European settlers who colonized the New World, the
Native Hawaiians who look to a cherished past.
We are members of a single human family, the products
of genetic necessity and chance, borne ceaselessly
into an unknown future.

........ THE HOLLOW KNOTS .....

Ergotropic Arousal: arousal of the
sympathetic nervous system and the

creative and ecstatic experiences.

Trophotropic Arousal: arousal of the
parasympathetic system, associated with
deep relaxation and the timeless, oceanic
mode of the mystic experience.

Both states, which may be interpreted
as hyper and hypo arousal, or ecstasy and
samadhi, are now thought possible to
induce by computerized sound and light
brain entrainment technologies.

* * *

The Hollow Knots would be a ground breaking
title requiring innovative approaches to
design and production.

The "story / simulation" progresses not
as a game, but as a multidimensional,
multilinear neurovisual epic.
Three visually unique and highly complex
plot structures are interwoven into a
singular tapestry of strange, dark beauty.
A single story emerges from the tripartite
chaos as a Boschian triptych unfolds its
three hinged paintings to reveal an
interconnected "garden of earthly delights."
The use of three parallel narratives ensures
that no two journeys through The Hollow Knots
would proceed identically. One storyline
seamlessly flows into another, back again,
and yet into a third. The observer
participant (player) exponentially changes
the configuration interactively as numerous
routes appear and vanish, concluding toward
a unification of all worlds and characters.

This is not a game; and although it may
be classified under the game genre, this
would be a misclassification. The Hollow
Knots, if produced with meticulous care
and state of the art technique, will open
a new class beyond mere entertainment, into
a realm of consciousness mutation and
unknown discovery. A hint of danger and
risk may accompany such an enterprise...
(more on that later).

The Hollow Knots will be a microcosmic
exploration of an entirely "other"
universe, with just enough game player
familiarity to allow for fluid
observer-participation and learning.
The player will be a collaborator in a
radical socio-technical experiment,
while testing the limits of
interactive simulations.

The Hollow Knots: A kaleidoscopic odyssey
through a visually rich universe of self-
reproducing inflationary universes
containing scalar fields, ancient
technological civilizations with hierarchical
links to future and past beings, multiple
worlds and identities, primitive oracles,
complicated characters, honest sexuality,
benignly indifferent inorganic beings
permeating galactic space, and a realm where
a solitary formlessness acquires sentience
by gazing into "bas-reliefs" covering an
enormous labyrinthine edifice: the sole
structure on a barren world. A simulation
where a Virtual Reality experiment exposes
tenuous boundaries between the universes,
and one of several main protagonists discovers
that he is really an artificial intelligence
integral to an earlier VR experiment that
had gone awry.

The synergistically configured, multidimensional
story/software/hardware effect of playing
The Hollow Knots will induce either an
intravenous feedbag or a quantum step in the
psychic development of the observer- participant.
This will be accomplished with the use of legal
and available brain entrainment technologies,
intended where appropriate, to add a profound
new depth to the simulation. As music has been
traditionally used to add an emotional element
to motion pictures and theatre, consciousness
technology should now be included to open a new
dimension for interactive entertainment/education.

The three elements of EEG biofeedback,
light and sound will be incorporated
into the storyline to induce appropriate
changes in the player's delta, theta, alpha,
and beta brain wave patterns, thus taking
entertainment to its next step:
neurological interactivity. With available
techniques, pulsed light and the superimposition
of binaural beat frequencies incorporated into
the software, the player will feel an emotional,
psychological and physiological involvement in
The Hollow Knots unlike any other cybernetic
experience. This could be analogous to a
precursor technology, in which images would be
created directly with the mind.
Naturally this would require extensive
"in-house" testing with a measure of secrecy:
some may consider this project ethically and
psychologically challenging.

SCALAR [ Copyright © 1990-1992 ]--eMpTy:

Thus began the changes.

Countless legions comprise our number, yet, if
the essential truth be told, all of us - without
exception - could be perceived as ultimately ONE.
Multiplicity devoid of all barriers, hence
singular. An annoying mystery perhaps; consider
then the oscillating, infinite scales of Ouroboros:
that mythical, cosmological serpent, having
ingested the tip of his own tail, he thereby
enacts the ubiquitous, grand circumference with
no fixed epicenter, as it is eternally consumed
and eternally regenerated. Magical at first glance,
founded upon elementary principles upon a secondary look, and, in the final analysis, simply and unavoidably a paradox.

Dissimilar to our rather curvilinear, one track
minded ancient friend of infinite segments we
instead possess boundless, soaring, multipartite
sentience of no easy measure nor simple expression.
Imagine your wildest facsimile of absolute emptiness and you will misrepresent us in every attempt. Formless energy is our lot, truly rambunctious in our thought. Yes we soar in profundity and do thoroughly enjoy ourselves almost to a fault.
You see, if there were an area in our experience
where we might get just a trifle carried away,
it would have to be, I suppose, our uncontainable
hilarity. Laughter, we solemnly proclaim whenever the occasion dictates, is the mother's milk of the infinite. An archaic epitaph, left over from a time we knew death intimately, which generally dissolves all traces of solemnity and plunges us into a cacophonous hysteria reverberating for aeons.

The pervasive energy known as laughter is the
very fuel assisting our temporal occupations which are, if you haven't already deduced, the generation and rotation of the great vortices. Finding amusement in watching those fine, delicate lights gather into whirling masses, creating magnificent patterns, colorful disks, or iridescent globules; stimulating all manner of internal, dramatic events. We enjoy our positions of detached clarity, seldom, if ever, becoming involved in any of the events we observe. I, however, appear to be the rare exception to this informal rule.

Perhaps my not so detached laughter lacks the
radiant gusto of the others specifically because
this current state of being (or non being) is a
recent one to me; hence, atavistic fragments or
relative attachments may continue to linger.
Also, I find it so fascinating and tragic to
watch what I call "their brief gyrations."
All those agitated, ephemeral little entities:
condensed sorrow and small joy, endlessly
springing up out of the vortex, around and
about, then disappearing equally sudden and
mysterious. Ah, such pathos... I really cannot
help it. I do seem to get involved, though I
never interfere, relishing as I do the exquisite
sensations accompanying our practice of
absolute restraint.

On the other hand, there is one particularly
obscure "Event Drama" which has been profoundly absorbing to my attention lately, and I do believe that I may have some mysterious involvement there which I think I shall attempt to concretize for you by focusing upon one of Ouroboros' multifarious, luminous segments.

I deliver myself to the task and
thereby lose sight of our expanse.

Space and time are singularized, folded
and stretched. A glistening, infinite sword

really interesting 'scenes' in that work: the long

the parallel realities motif; and 'Ann Coulter'

One major prophetic glitch appears to be the
'Visitor' describing our universe as oscillating

an eventual Big Bang's expansion will exceed the
speed of light thereby fulfilling an "I AM"
prophecy of some kind. This seems very 'glitchy'
as cosmologists already posit the moment after
Big Bang as superluminally inflating space/time.
It is accepted that space did expand faster than
the speed of light. And the Big Crunch part of
an oscillating universe has become somewhat
dependent, theoretically, on Dark Matter/
Dark Energy 'engaging with' the current state of
accelerated expansion... all still unknown.

[[[NOTE: There is an easily missed amazing
factoid here, in that the early universe

expand faster than light can travel.

"Watson," an IBM computing system, is gearing up
for a first-of-its-kind challenge--taking on human
contestants on the game show Jeopardy!
With a brain the size of 2,400 home computers and
a database of about 10 million documents, will
Watson be able to compute its way to victory?
Win or lose, the difficulty of mimicking the human

artificial-intelligence researchers that there's more
than one way to be "intelligent."
On February 16, 2011, two AI experts from

Jeopardy! shows in which Watson challenged top
human competitors Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter. [...]

OLTISSIS OF ETHOS and Other Strange Attractors

                    A D D E N D U M
MEANWHILE... [Circa: June 2010]...

Prof. Hawking most recently said that Time Travel was only possible to the future, because Time Travel to the past is fraught with paradox. He used the example of a man who builds a time machine that takes him back in time 2 minutes before he 'steps into the time machine.' If he subsequently 'prevents' the man that is his 'past self' from stepping into the time machine, then the man who does the time traveling cannot possibly exist to perform this action. Paradox. Therefore, Hawking admits that although time travel to the past is impossible, time travel to the future is easily done. Simply approach the speed of light, and as your clocks slow down, relative to the outside, the reality outside speeds up. Balance is compensated with relativity in space-time. To be fair, Prof. Hawking did not mention the notion of parallel realities and bifurcating timelines. The 'Parallel Universe' theory is the only theory that allows time travel to the past, but the illusion of 'past' time travel is compensated for by leaving the timeline entirely; so, technically, the past is an illusion, merely another parallel reality not within the timeline in which you started. In other words, the only way to travel backwards is to jump onto an entirely different timeline which creates the illusion of traveling backwards. The arrow of time is not violated, and you lose track of your original timeline, existing thereafter in a parallel, seemingly 'past' timeline (assuming the reality isn't completely divergent!) At its core, 'time' really is illusory. Einstein said it didn't really exist, but was a human cognitive construct.
All we ever really know is now. We can only travel in the now, creating various illusions along the way.

I guess that wonderful notion of 'us'
jumping into a time machine to take a
look at what Ezekiel saw way back when
and realizing he saw us in our time
machine, was really less about going
backwards and more about going SIDEWAYS
onto a parallel track where a parallel
Ezekiel existed contemporaneously with
'us.' Hmmmm... Quoting Saul Paul Sirag:

"There's been some speculation that the
Ezekiel vision was of what we today would
call a flying saucer. In other words, an
object of advanced technology.
It's hard to know one way or another,
but I've been wondering if it was not
a time machine of some sort. Recently
in Physical Review Abstracts (D 15 March
1974) there was a report [by Frank Tipler]
of the possibility of time travel by means
of a rotating cylinder. It would be odd
if we were to go in such a time machine
to visit Ezekiel's time and place.
We could do this, because we know the
day he saw his vision, since he carefully
recorded the time (a date equivalent to
July 5, 592 BCE give or take a day) and
place. It would be odd if in doing
this -- to have a peek at Ezekiel's
vision it turned out that what Ezekiel
saw was just us in our time machine
trying to have a peek at his vision."

So, in a Multiverse, given a near infinite number
of earths, (and Ezekiels), e.g. Earth Prime,
Earth^2, Earth^3, Earth^4... all at various
waveform manifestations with separate timelines,
we could conceivably convince ourselves of all
sorts of possibilities as they might apply to the
illusory nature of time travel. Perhaps we'll
figure this all out, in time...? AND...

The curiosity of 'entropy,' light speed, time dilation,
etc., according to relativity, quite proven by GPS
satellite's onboard clocks slightly out of phase with
earth surface clocks, and myriad's of other cosmological,
quantum mechanical anti-intuitive shenanigans, verified;
time travel, apparently is limited to future travel
only... Curiouser and curiouser, however, the speed of
light is, yea verily, limited to approx. 186,000 miles
per second in 'SPACE' - lovely inflating invisible space,
created, it seems, following the inflationary big bang
dohicky, inflating, by the way, FASTER than the speed of
light! Is that not interesting? That space itself may
expand faster than the speed of light, while the light
within the superluminal inflation of space maintains
its photonic speed limit! Therefore, if one could
perhaps circumvent 'space,' one could circumvent the
speed of light? Definitely not a technology for
beginner fire apes. Seeya 'round the mountain!

So, I was reading Walter Isaacson's 'Einstein: His Life and Universe'
the other day, and in a chapter on Quantum Entanglement, I learned that Erwin Schrodinger and Albert E. were not huge fans of the emerging quantum mechanics of the day; although, Schrodinger had less difficulty with non-locality than Einstein did, (Albert liked an empirical universe that you could wrap your mind around, not that spooky-action-at-a-distance dice game of uncertainty and inseparability); they both teamed up to discredit some of the weirdities of quantum mechanics, which gave birth to the 'Schrodinger's Cat' mental experiment. Not being particularly bright, or well enough read, I always assumed the 'cat experiment' was somehow meant to reinforce quantum mechanic theories, when it turns out to be quite the contrary. Albert started it all with a scenario of gunpowder that would be triggered to explode dependent upon an atomic doohicky, showing that the gunpowder could not be simultaneously exploded or non-exploded pending a viewer's perception of the matter. Erwin S. then conceived the famous cat-in-a-box of acid connected to a trigger mechanism in order to prove the absurdity of a cat being both dead and alive pending some human's glimpse of the waveform collapsing reality. And Albert even added a variation with gunpowder instead of acid, so the cat (and box) cannot possibly be both exploded and not exploded. This was their way of dismantling the entire quantum/macro human observer determining 'reality' scenario, which they thought was pretty stupid, and anthropocentric to a maniacally egotistic degree, (i.e. what about the cat's observation, or a flea's or what-the-hell's 'other'?) But other than that, non-locality eventually proved to be generally correct, under the premise that two particles that interact, continue to simultaneously reflect each other's state as a result of being a 'system' regardless of so-called distance. But the existence of 'reality' being entirely due to human observation really bugged both Erwin Schrodinger and Albert Einstein. Can't say I really blame them.

And as far as Prof. Hawking's dismissal of traveling
backwards in time due to various grandfather paradoxes
like killing yourself 2 minutes before you step into
the '2 min. time machine' - subjectively, precluding a
shrug and/or a change of mind as outcome, thereby
eliciting all sorts of bizarro 'many-worlds' hypothetical
timeline jumping, consider the:

"Equivalent Sets of Histories and Multiple Quasiclassical Realms"

Authors: Murray Gell-Mann,
James B. Hartle (Santa Fe Institute,
Los Alamos, and University of New Mexico)
(Submitted on 8 Apr 1994 (v1),
last revised 5 May 1996 (this version, v3))

Abstract: We consider notions of physical equivalence
of sets of histories in the quantum mechanics of a
closed system. We show first how the same set of
histories can be relabeled in various ways, including
the use of the Heisenberg equations of motion and of
passive transformations of field variables. In the
the usual approximate quantum mechanics of a measured
subsystem, two observables re- presented by different
Hermitian operators are physically distinguished by
the different apparatus used to measure them. In the
quantum mechanics of a closed system, however, any
apparatus is part of the system and the notion of
physically distinct situations has a different
character. We show that a triple consisting of an
initial condition, a Hamiltonian, and a set of
histories is physically equivalent to another triple
if the operators representing these initial
conditions, Hamiltonians, and histories are related
by any fixed unitary transformation. We apply this
result to the question of whether the universe might
exhibit physically inequivalent quasiclassical realms
(which we earlier called quasiclassical domains), not
just the one that includes familiar experience.
We describe how the probabilities of alternative
forms, behaviors, and evolutionary histories of
information gathering and utilizing systems (IGUSes)
using the usual quasiclassical realm could in
principle be calculated in quantum cosmology, although
it is, of course, impractical to perform the
computations. We discuss how, in principle, the
probabilities of occurrence of IGUSes could be
calculated in realms distinct from the usual
quasiclassical one. We discuss how IGUSes adapted
mainly to two different realms could draw inferences
about each other using a hybrid realm consisting of
alternatives drawn from each.

Even so, that crazy 'double-slit experiment' nags
at the back of the mind wherein a measured outcome
seems to determine the prelude -- or the notion that
information may travel backward in time -- which
once upon a time had me consider the following:

"In a Quasi-Parallel Multiverse, in the dimmest
recesses of ancient fore-history, there did manifest
a powerful, quantum computing device, located at
approximately 2/3rd radius along one arm of a spiral
galaxy. A cosmological variation on the double-slit
experiment arose:

"How about running a near infinite number of
simultaneous interdimensional 'big bang' simulations
with infinitesimal variations in each simulation to
determine the most novel, and long-lived, open-ended
scenario of survival; thereby selecting the specific
'history' of this advantageous pathway over all other
shorter-lived, 'extinction' pathways...?

"Could sporadic, sentient unhappiness and suffering
throughout the successful pathway be entirely
ruled out?" tinyurl.com/ba5s2

When I was about twelve, he gave me
a desk from his office to use in my
room, and after the workmen had set
it up and left, I found a photograph
stuck in a crack in the top of one
of the drawers. It was of my father.
It had been taken in what looked like
a North African setting. There was a
coffin being held up by two men in
soutanes and fezzes. Lying in the
coffin with his eyes closed and his
hands folded on his chest was my
father. Of course I was amazed by
this picture and took it to him
immediately to ask what it was.
He ripped it into small pieces and
flushed it down the toilet. He never
said a single word about it.

Pages 24-25; Chapter 2 - The Mirror Shattered

[...]   Because I was so shocked in my
childhood, I lost my belief in the
stability of the ordinary world. I live
in a permanent state of unease, but
also a permanent state of wonder.
      Ask any close-encounter witness what

isn't what you see around you. This world

a shattered childhood, a very different

Page 38; Chapter 3 - The Lost Finders

[...]   On a few occasions, I had the
chance to ask a question of a visitor.
For the most part, this happened deep in
the woods at night. If I glimpsed one of
them, I would sit on the ground and collect
myself, enter a meditative state, and then
ask my question aloud.
Usually, there was no response -- in
general, I suppose, because they weren't
really there. But on some occasions, they
were, and once when I asked a question I
got a response...   I asked, "What does the
universe mean to you?"
Instantly, there appeared in my mind a
bright, clear image of a closed coffin.
I cannot explain how this was done, but
can only say that these vivid, television-like
images were a common way they had of
communicating with me. I might add that they
were also among the strangest things I have
ever known. They weren't simple images.
With them came what I can only describe as a
sense of a person, an intimacy of being, that
had conveyed a taste of the personality that
had created them.
[...]   I wondered how anybody could think of
our mysterious universe this way? But then I
realized that, of course, they have probably
reached its limits, or worse, discovered that
reality has no limits.
I can see the claustrophobia that would
attend to the realization that one is trapped
in an infinity that could never be escaped.
In fact, I can feel it. It's like being in a
room you can never leave, or a prison.
What would the world be like without
mysteries? It is a claustrophobic and desperate
idea. And what if it goes on forever, endlessly
repeating itself, star upon star, galaxy upon
galaxy, universe upon universe?
If so, then there is truly no escape, not
for anybody who understands this as a certainty.
For them, it is indeed a coffin, and our
innocence is a kind of freedom that must be
among the most precious things that they know.

Pages 70-73; Chapter 6 - What Might They Want?

[...]   There is in physics a concept called
alternative history. It has nothing to do with
the usual speculations about Atlantis or
whatever, but rather with what appears to be the
truth about reality, that the universe is not
a single, isolated entity at all but a component
in a vast multiverse that includes parallel
universes that are literal, physical places.
Every possible outcome of every event happens
somewhere, in what is probably an infinity of
universes, forever expanding into a void that
is without end.
It is a shocking idea, and when considered
in the context of the coffin I was shown by the
elderly visitor, it becomes an infinity from
which there can be no escape: an unending,
chokingly claustrophobic emptiness.
[...]   So could the existence of the multiverse
be at least some of the reason for the bizarre
effects associated with contact? Could there be
some way to cross between parallel universes?
[...]   In this universe the whole anomalous
enterprise may be an apparition being projected
here by some sort of arcane technology or mental
state that enables a crossing of the invisible
gap between the worlds. So might they not be us
in another state?

council of 811 masters which came out of Naples,
Athens, and Toledo, we did choose one whose name
was Honorius, the son of Euclid, master of the
Thebians, in the which city this art was read,
that he should work for us in this said art.
And he through the council of a certain angel
whose name was Hocroel, did write seven volumes
of art magic, giving to us the kernel, and to
others the shells. Out of the which books he
drew out 93 chapters, in the which is briefly
contained the effect of this art, of the which
chapters he made a book which we do call
The Sacred or Sworn Book for this cause, for in
it is contained the 100 sacred names of God, and
therefor it is called sacred, as you would say
'made of holy things,' or else because by this
book he came to the knowledge of sacred or holy
things, or else because it was consecrated by
angels, or else because the angel Hocroel did
declare and show him that it was consecrated

'Dali stood on the platform and saw
Perpignan station as the unknown centre of
the universe.' ... She said, 'Dali knew in
that moment and realised he was alone with
the realisation.'
'Am I going to feel that way?' I asked,
'It seemed that here Dali had experienced
another place altogether. He had quite
inadvertently stepped into another time and
space, and it affected him profoundly, as one
might expect.' ...
I asked if she had known Dali. She had.
'He was a complicated, curious man,
sensitive, not a showman only out for drama,
as some believe. ... I told him about Ramon of
Perillos and his "other dimension", so Dali
went up to the deserted village and understood
many things about Daleth 4, Doorway. ...
'He was mystical, esoteric, looking for
what was beneath worldly reality, and he
certainly found it. He traversed many spheres,
little known, unseen. He was a seeker, a
magician, and he wasn't afraid of the outcome.
But what he experienced here at the Perpignan
station was bigger than all that.'
'Have I got to experience what he did?'
I'd heard Dali had gone to bed suffering with
depression for quite awhile towards the end of
his life. If there was a choice, I'd rather
not go through it. She said Dali put the
experience into his work. ...
I asked what she thought had happened to
so change the artist. She pointed to Canigou.
    'The Portal.'
Did she mean that he had gone through a
portal? She didn't answer my question but
chose to change the subject.
    'What is eleven?' she asked.
I knew that some people who were drawn
to energies and ley lines found a special
significance in the numbers 11:11. I said I
was often aware of that time in the morning
and would quite simply see it on my kitchen
clock, staring at the two elevens until they
changed to 11:12, which was something quite
    'Eleven: Eleven. In sacred geometry,
the two elevens are the columns of the
temple. The doorposts of the portal.
Perpignan. The dark and sterile mother.
Binah, the third sefirot of the Tree of Life.
World-universe. Earth. To excavate. To mine.
To dig. Course of water. Flame. Perpignan
falls on square 42. Forty-two degrees refers
to the rainbow. The angle between the horizon
and highest point formed in the eye of the
observer.' She had understood these symbols.
... Quickly I asked about Dali. Did he go
to the peak of the mountain? Did he go
through a portal?
'He had to be prepared first. You can't
just jump into it. You have to sit calmly
attuned to one thought, allowing an opening
of the portal to become visible. It takes a
great deal of attention.'
'Did Dali see a vision? That's what it's
all about, isn't it? Calling up the vision.'
'If only,' she said. 'If only it
were that.'
And I felt we had come to a decisive
moment. Leaving the subject of Dali's
progress, I questioned my own. Would I be
allowed to continue? [...]

libraries of passages leading off into

'Copper Ash-tray,' comes to mind. QUOTE:

"... The only difference was that I did not
believe in my experiences, while the 'Akashic
records' were believed and are believed by
both their authors and readers.

"It very soon became evident to me that neither
in these nor in the other experiences was there
anything real. It was all reflected, it all
came from the memory, from the imagination.
The voices immediately became silent as soon as
I passed to something familiar and concrete
which could be verified.

"This explained to me why it is that authors
who describe Atlantis are unable with the aid
of their 'clairvoyance' to solve any practical
problems relating to the present which are
always so easy to find, but which for some
reason they always avoid touching on. Why do
they know everything that happened thirty
thousand years ago and not know what is
happening at the time of their experiments
but in another room?"
"I remember once sitting on a sofa smoking
and looking at an ash-tray. It was an ordinary
copper ash-tray. Suddenly I felt that I was
beginning to understand what the ash-tray was,
and at the same time, with a certain wonder
and almost with fear, I felt that I had never
understood it before and that we do not
understand the simplest things around us.
"The ash-tray roused a whirlwind of thoughts
and images. It contained such an infinite number
of facts, of events; it was linked with such an
immense number of things. First of all, with
everything connected with smoking and tobacco.
That at once roused thousands of images,
pictures, memories. Then the ash-tray itself.
How had it come into being? All the materials
of which it could have been made? Copper, in
this case -- what was copper? How had people
discovered it for the first time?
How had they learned to make use of it?
How and where was the copper obtained from
which this ash-tray was made? Through what
kind of treatment had it passed, how had it
been transported from place to place, how many
people had worked on it or in connection with
it? How had the copper been transformed into
an ash-tray? These and other questions about
the history of the ash-tray up to the day when
it had appeared on my table.
"I remember writing a few words on a piece
of paper in order to retain something of these
thoughts on the following day.
And next day read:
'A man can go mad from one ash-tray.'
"The meaning of all that I felt was that in
one ash-tray it was possible to know all.
By invisible threads the ash-tray was connected
with everything in the world, not only with the
present, but with all the past and with all the
future. To know an ash-tray meant to know all."

I have before today heard of neither, but
can say that

(i) Oltissis is a name unattested in
ancient Greek; and

(ii) If there exists a book entitled
"Ancient Greek Gods and Lore Revisited"
(c) 1962, then it was privately published
and seems to have left none of the usual
traces. As to its author, whose exact name
seems to be in doubt, the surname "Ionnides"
is an unlikely spelling; perhaps it was,
as you say [I suggested], Ioannides (or
Ioannidis - to reflect modern Greek
pronunciation). But "Fredrico" is then
almost as unlikely, for two reasons:
(a) it sounds Italian, rather than Greek;
and (b) it even then probably should be
"Frederico" or perhaps "Federico" (as in
Fellini, the director).

One thing I am competent to say:
the symbol chosen on the second web page
for an independent thinker is the Roman
would-be revolutionary Catiline; the man
accusing him before the gathering is Cicero,
who -- to hear him tell it -- on this occasion
managed to preserve what we would call democracy
for another couple of decades before another
independent mind (Julius Caesar) finally
destroyed it.

But as far as I can see, mention of neither
author nor book nor "Oltissis" is more than
about a week old.]]=-

Interesting... I just read over the weekend WS's Secret School account of his 'experience' of temporal-phasing-overlap, quantum-waveform-smearing, or whatever, of his extra-temporal identity as a 15 year old Roman slave, tutoring a young Octavius, and subsequently 'nudging' Cicero in an uncanny manner, to say the least... To see these names synchronize with recent drone meanderings and newly coined words is curious indeed.

Once upon a time . . . Daniel Pinchbeck apparently had a similar transtemporal interface with an historical strange attractor of extraordinary prominence; quote:

[...]   To make matters worse, along with the
potentially reality-shifting reception of
the Quetzalcoatl transmission, I had accessed
a hypothetical past life as an Indian emperor,
fulfilling all New Age cliches. I had never
heard of Ashoka before--or if I had heard of
him, I had no recollection of who he was.
When I researched the matter at home, I
discovered that Ashoka was not just any old
king, but the majestic Devanampriya
Priyadarshin, "Beloved of the Gods," "He Who
Looks Benevolently." This possibility seemed
an incredibly self-aggrandizing stretch from
the humble reality of my South Williamsburg
life, where my reign extended over an
underheated shoebox of a room. In any event,
whatever happened in the Amazon--whether some
archetypal pattern was revealed, past life
triggered, or wish-fulfillment projected by
myself and the priestess--the figure of Ashoka
had forced his way into my mind, demanding
