Release the Hounds!
The Hunt is on...
(for the ever elusive 2.6L cylinder head)

Note to all:  It is here that I plan on listing those places that remanufacture cylinder heads for our cars.  I hope to list companies you all have dealt with before, and allow you to rate the service you received from them.  This means I need your help also..  Purchased a head lately? Paid a good price?  Had any bad experiences?  Pass on the information, and I'll make sure to list it here..
To start, I have simply done a search on the net, and then called those companies that had a 1-800 (or 1-888) number.

Hope this somehow helps you all..

Here's what Mitsubishi parts fiche has to say about the heads.

Head Assembly, Cylinder

Production dates Part Number
Start to 01/84
MD026530
02/84 to 05/87
MD084427
05/87 to Finish
MD125378

Why the part number differences?  In all truth, I don't know.  Logic leans towards minor changes made throughout the production cycle that were deemed "Important Enough" to warrant the number change.  This could be a change in castings, or something as simple as an upgrade in valve seats.  I suspect part of the change came from the hydraulic-mechanical lifter changes in '87.  But again, that's kinda my guess right now..
