"Sonya" is a gorgeous red bay mare with the exotic beauty of a Peruvian and the great substance of a Friesian. Many people believe that the origins of the Peruvian Paso can be traced back directly to the Friesian. Both breeds have a heavy Andalusian influence as well. Sonya's baroque build and eye-catching movement are a match made in heaven. She inherited some of her dam's Peruvian termino as well as her Friesian sire's (and dam's) high knee action. She gaited as a baby and has the strong gait of her Peruvian lines and is currently reg'd as a Gaited Baroque Horse. She is greenbroke and is doing great under saddle. During training, her Paso Fino trainers told me that she is still gaited, although her gait has not been set yet. They also say that she is very sensitive and responsive. Sonya has the Friesian build with a little bit of the hotness of the Paso. Sonya can be a little nervous with new people but once she warms up to them, she is very friendly. She will do almost anything (see above) with an experienced, confident rider who will not get nervous if she gets nervous. I am only selling her because I am getting out of breeding indefinitely. She is about 14.2h or 14.3h, heavy in build at around 1100 lbs. with good-sized, excellent hooves to match. She could carry a good-sized man easily. Price will increase with training. Introducing Tell-Tale Farm's very first second-generation Gaited Baroque Horse! This boy is just like his Friesian-lookalike sire. Same mischevious and confident personality, same wide chest, same big legs & hooves, same curly hair all over, mostly walks and canters everywhere. Edgar has been gaiting since birth and at five-months of age is still gaiting. Of course, he's learned to trot now and actually has an incredible extended trot that he got from his sire and Friesian grandsire. Best of both worlds! Edgar's grand-dam, a gaited Morgan, can easily trot or gait on cue under saddle, so it's not a problem for dressage. His sire Drummer can get into an extended trot in a 20-foot square enclosure with no effort. And I've never seen such a beautiful extended trot in a foal this young. So far Mystery is training him to be the same quiet, confident horse as her last foal Blitz. Edgar is reg'd with the GBHA and can be registered with the Friesian Blood Horse Registry, the FSHR, and several other Friesian cross registries. He is all black with a tiny half-star on his forehead. Edgar will be great for dressage and driving, as well as trailriding or many other disciplines. This is a recent photo of Mystery, taken in January 06. She is 14.2hh, black with a small amount of white, dominant herd mare, unflappable temperament, great mother, easy breeder, and easy keeper. She crosses great with Friesian stallions. Mystery foxtrots under saddle (will not trot under saddle), and likes trailriding but not round pen/arena work. She has mostly been a broodmare for the last few years and raises very independent and laidback foals. More info and pics can be seen on her page, Mystery. She is available for sale separately for $1250 but will have to stay here until March or so when her foal is weaned.
