April 17/18 Hallett Motor Racing Circuit

Tim attended the Regional/National at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit.  The weather for the Regional race on Saturday was cool, windy but sunny.  Tim qualified on the poll with a time of 1:30.92.  It was a 16 lap race around Hallett's 1.8 mile course and Tim led all 16 laps, winning with a 20.18 second advantage.  Tim's fastest lap in the race was 1:30.95.

Sunday brought warmer temperatures, less wind and a 25 lap National race.  Again, Tim qualified well at 1:29.33, .59 seconds behind the pole sitter and third on the grid.  After a poor start, Tim slipped to 4th on the first lap.  A few laps latter, Tim went off at turn 1 dropping back two more positions, leaving him 6th at this point.  Regaining his composure, Tim fought his way back to 4th position with 12 laps remaining.  After battling with the 3rd place car for 5 laps, Tim attemped a pass on the inside at turn 4 only to have the rear break loose sending him spinning towards the tire wall thus ending Tim's race.  Officially, Tim completed 17 laps which was enough to consider this an official finish.  The team is upbeat and looking forward to the next event.
